Responsibilities
  • Assist in supporting all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, wireless access points, firewalls, multi-function printers, and UPS’s.
  • Work with management to identify, choose, and verify cable pathways.
  • Will install network closet hardware, including connecting blocks, fiber enclosures, racks, backboards, and patch panels.
  • Conduct site surveys for locations, and assist in designing, creating, and implementing network standards and specifications.
  • Attend onsite and off-site job-related training to further knowledge of company systems, operations, video security systems, network, and voice platforms.
  • Install IP devices, and terminate phone & network jacks and distribution frames.
  • Provide the organization’s accounting & management teams with material and labor estimates on projects. Manage and maintain inventory for parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Assist in overseeing the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end-user workstation hardware, software, and other peripheral network devices such as routers and switches.
  • Provide on-call support to end-users.
  • Minor electrical work.

Requirements

  • 10 years equivalent work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Have keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Working Conditions
  • On-call availability as needed.
  • Sitting for extended periods.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and power tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Conduct inspections of cables in floors and ceilings.
  • Lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
  • Travel may be required for off-site installations and configuration, including overnight stays as needed.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Capable of working aloft, climbing, bending, pulling, reaching overhead, and lifting 50 lbs.
